A powerful communication tool

THE Proloquo2Go app, by AssistiveWare, has received positive media attention over recent times as a powerful source of communication for children with autism.

The app, which literally aims to provide a ‘voice’ for those with forms of expressive dysphasia, is a comprehensive text-to-speech program which may prove to have potential benefits for select individuals. 

Key Features: Proloquo2Go can be customised to provide a male or female voice in either American English or British English. The user can choose between the ‘Typing’ format and the ‘Grid’ view. The ‘Typing’ format enables sentences to be typed out – and this is then read out loud. The ‘Grid’ view provides communication by way of support pictures – which is ideal for children whose receptive language is intact.
