Evidence slim on omega-3s for AMD prevention

CURRENT evidence does not support routine consumption of omega-3 fatty acid supplements for preventing age-related macular degeneration, a meta-analysis has concluded.
While some of the nine trials included in the review indicated high dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids led to a reduction in the risk of late AMD, none provided sufficient evidence to draw conclusions.
