iPad comp winner says MO app helps GPs stay up to date
THE fourth winner in MO’s iPad 2 giveaway is South Australian GP Dr Jane Ramsey, whose successful entry said:“I love the MO iPad application. It is sleek, simple, portable, informative, up to date and educational. All in my hand wherever I need it.”
Dr Ramsey told MO the portable connectivity and range of applications available for her iPad had revolutionised her day-to-day practice.
“Because I only work part time, I need to be able to check test results and pathology etc, check and update patient records as needed, and make sure I’m getting my work emails – all of which I’m able to do from home or while on home or nursing home visits,” she said.
“You can do it from overseas. I was away last year and a result came in that I urgently needed someone to deal with, so rather than it sitting in a result folder waiting for me to check when I returned, I was able to send an email saying that someone needed to sort it out that day.
“The patient was followed up rather than waiting three weeks for me to return, or the result getting lost in the system.”
Dr Ramsey regularly uses a number of educational and decision support applications, from one that helps interpret ECG results, to a glossocoma scale app, and an app that assists her to sort out item billing for her anaesthetic work.
