IT’S amazing how many useful purposes can be found for the recently featured wonder material – non-slip liner – purchased for a few dollars at a discount store.
Dr Simon Pilbrow of Rosebud, Vic, uses it to raise the heel for a few weeks to ease the pain of Achilles tendonitis. He folds about 10 layers of the mesh and cuts it to size as a shoe insert. He tapers the front end for comfort and, as the tendon improves, removes a layer every few days. It is comfy, doesn’t slip and it’s cheap!
