Samantha Moses, a practice nurse in Mornington, Victoria, notes that modern wound care gels are of high quality, but expensive if used only once. However, the nozzle of a sterile syringe fits neatly into most tubes, and a single dose can be withdrawn, allowing subsequent re-use of the gel. Keen observers may notice the pictured ulcer abuts a Collingwood leg tattoo, and such patients need particular care at this time of year.
