As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. And when providing medical explanations to your patients, a concise diagram is a must-have.

In this vein, SusaSoftX have created The Human Anatomy!, an app which contains a set of very simplified anatomical diagrams. These may be used by doctors to help explain medical conditions or surgical procedures to patients.

Key Features: The app is easy to use, and contains basic diagrams of sixteen organ systems, including the cardiovascular system, digestive system, the eye, and the reproductive systems. Images are high resolution and labelled, and may be zoomed using ‘pinch touch’ technology. Additional information about specific body parts may be accessed by clicking on a body part label, and pressing the ‘More info’ button at the top of the screen.

APP: The Human Anatomy!

Cost: Free

Compatibility: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android

Requirements: iOS 3.0 or later

The verdict: Four stars
