New advisory committee for NHMRC

FORMER AMA president Dr Mukesh Haikerwal will join fellow clinicians and academics on a new committee to advise the NHMRC on how best to apply research findings into clinical settings. The newly formed NHMRC Health Care Committee will aim to ensure the results of the best available research are applied in GP clinics and hospitals. The committee, chaired by former chief medical officer Professor John Horvath, will have a significant role in supporting the NHMRC’s response to the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission report and the National Primary Health Care Strategy.
