THE executive officer of the AFL’s Medical Officers Association has defended players’ use of sleeping tablets, following the hospitalisation of Richmond player Ben Cousins. Mr Cousins was taking to hospital yesterday morning after an adverse reaction to a sleeping tablet. He spent last night in intensive care at Melbourne’s Epworth hospital, and was reportedly discharged today.
