THE Federal Government has missed its 1 July deadline to introduce a simplified MBS intended to ease the burden of red tape on GPs. Promised in the lead-up to the 2007 federal election and announced in December last year, the simplified schedule was to clarify Level C and D item descriptors, and streamline item numbers for health checks and chronic disease management.
