A SAFETY warning has been issued after a “100% herbal” erectile dysfunction treatment sold over the Internet was found to contain sildenafil. The Natural Vigra VIAGRA tablets may pose a health risk in men with a history of cardiovascular disease, the TGA has warned. Viagra to be sold in British supermarkets
THE erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil (Viagra) will soon be available in UK supermarkets without the need for a prescription. The Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency granted retailer Tesco permission to sell Viagra at 300 pharmacies within its supermarkets under a special licence known as a patient group direction. The service will be available to men aged 40 to 65, who will be charged £52 ($86) for a consultation and eight tablets. QUESTIONS have been raised over the integrity of the medicines supply chain after a batch of counterfeit Viagra (sildenafil) was discovered in a number of pharmacies across NSW, Victoria and the ACT.
