Tone-deaf individuals may be tuning out emotional intelligence

PEOPLE with congenital amusia (tone deafness) have twin problems, researchers say: not only do they remain unmoved by the delights of Vivaldi or the Veronicas, but they might also fail to recognise the emotional state of family and friends.
