Is it really possible to be a consumer of healthcare — a product you never wanted in the first place? 

It’s a question I have been asking myself a lot recently, especially in the context of our evolving primary healthcare system. 

The term ‘patient’ has been thrown out by many because it’s seen as patronising and condescending.
